20 WEEKS TO PREMIERE AT LA FILM FESTIVAL!

I play a nurse in the intimate, raw, romantic drama, 20 WEEKS (written and directed by Leena Pendharkar). The feature film stars Amir Arison (The Blacklist) and Anna Margaret Hollyman, and will premiere at the LA Film Festival on June 19th (7pm).

The film tells the story of Maya and Ronan, a couple of 30-somethings, who are in love and expecting a baby when a health condition that could impact their unborn child is discovered during a routine scan. As their outlook on parenthood shifts and evolves, the couple is forced to re-examine whether they will be able to tackle the challenges they face and the future of their family.

ON SET – THE FOSTERS

It’s so rewarding to be a part of a socially conscious storyline. I play a counselor at an LGBT center on ABC’s THE FOSTERS. Lovely cast and crew. Important story to share. Who says television can’t better the world? Look for me in Season 5!

IN ABSENTIA WINS A REMI AWARD

I’m really proud to have played the intriguing Asha in the mysterious and visually captivating, IN ABSENTIA, an anthology short film series consisting of contemporary, dark folk tales that focus on the absence of life’s normal order. Compared to BLACK MIRROR and THE TWILIGHT ZONE, the series was created by the lovely and talented Ethan Kogan & Jessica Silvetti, who also just picked up a Remi Award at the 50th Annual Worldfest Houston International Film Festival.

THUMPER PREMIERES AT TRIBECA

The feature film THUMPER, in which I played a pharmacist opposite a terrifying (but otherwise charming AF) Pablo Schreiber, just premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival this month!

Directed by Jordan Ross and EP’ed by Cary Fukunaga, this film centers around
a town of low-income and fractured families, where a group of teens are lured into working for a dangerous drug dealer. A new girl arrives who hides a dangerous secret that will impact everybody and change their lives forever.

The film also stars Lena Heady, Ben Feldman, Daniel Webber and Eliza Taylor.

OFF THE GRID PREMIERE

The film collective, We Make Movies, premiered its first 1/2 hour comedy pilot (OFF THE GRID) at the Sundance Sunset Cinema on October 6th! It was a red carpet event complete with the presentation of the pilot, a retrospective of our community films and workshops, a reception & Q&A moderated by moi.

Singing w/ SPINDRIFT

I’ve been working on more music these days. Recorded a demo for a musical, am collaborating on several electronic sounds, and am about to go into production on a score for my feature film ABOUT STRANGERS. Also, got up on stage with psychedelic indie rock band, SPINDRIFT again! Always a good time with these guys.

ON SET @ AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE

Episodic Season is in full swing and I got to play a mom on the new ABC comedy, AMERICAN HOUSEWIFE, alongside the hilariously talented Diedrich Bader & Meg Donnelly. Oh, and I found my mini-me, a gem of a child, literally named Opal!

SUMMER BOOKINGS & MORE!

Started off summer with a bang, playing opposite super talented Pablo Schreiber, in the feature film, THUMPER (EP’ed by Cary Fukanaga & directed by Jordan Ross). Enjoyed a successful run of WMMFEST at the Hollywood Fringe Festival & filmed a few scenes in Leena Pendharker’s 20 WEEKS opposite the lovely Anna Margaret Hollyman, Michelle Krusiec & Amir Arison (The Blacklist!!). To top it off, Jennie Fahn & I submitted our film BREAK to Women In Film’s Film Finishing Fund. Fingers crossed!

SHE’S SO RIGHT!

Can’t stay away from comedy. Writer/ Actress extraordinaire, Krista Amigone wrote some ridiculous one-liner comedy pieces & I couldn’t deny them. Aubrey Mozino, Krista & myself produced SHE’S SO RIGHT with the crew consisting of the one-woman dynamo that is Valentina Vee. Hilarity ensued. We can’t wait to share our misguided 80’s feminism a la “The More You Know” but for now, yup, we’re in post!

ABOUT STRANGERS IS IN POST!

After months of preparation, raising funds and shooting… we have a movie! Our cinema verite inspired tale about three drifters trying to make sense of their lives while hatching a plan to leave Los Angeles, is on its way through post production. I don a fire-engine red wig. Intrigued? Good! Can’t wait to share more, but in the meantime, ranging from ennui to elation, a few moments are captured below.
